Watching an LSU football game can be an emotional rollercoaster. In recent years, the Tigers have been one of the best defensive teams in the country.
Offense??....Not so much! Under head head coach Les Miles, the Tigers have been plagued with bad clock management, questionable play selection, and a lack of consistent quarterback play. The New Year's Eve loss in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl is a glaring example.
Miles announced the hiring of Cam Cameron to the position of offensive coordinator on Friday. Cameron will also serve as quarterbacks coach.
Miles and Cameron served together on the Michigan coaching staff for seven years from 1987-93.
Cameron gave Future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees his first NFL start. Cameron spent four years as Brees' Offensive coordinator with the San Diego Chargers. He was named the NFL Offensive Assistant Coach of the Year by SportsIllustrated.com in 2004.  Brees was selected to the Pro Bowl that year as well.
More recently, Cameron seved as offensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens for five sesaons. The Ravens reached the playoffs each of those five seasons.
If you want to Run with the "Big Boys" in the SEC, you've got to be tough on both sides of the ball. This looks like a step in the right direction.
