UPDATE: Road back open; gas main broken on Kaliste Saloom at Grand Pointe

UPDATE: According to KATC, Kaliste Saloom is now reopened following a gas main break earlier today by construction screws.

Lafayette firefighters are asking resident and motorists to avoid the area after construction crews broke a gas line while working on Kaliste Saloom.

Fire officials say the crews accidentally broke a four-inch gas line.

Nearby residents have been told to stay inside, but no evacuations have been issued.

No injuries have been reported.
