(KTDY) - Springtime in the south can bring gorgeous weather and flowers, but it can also produce severe weather and dangerous thunderstorms.

In recent weeks, we have seen videos of hailstorms on social media, and some hailstones were the size of baseballs.

When warmer and cooler collide, it's often the perfect ingredients for severe thunderstorms, and apparently, that is what happened during a recent Florida storm.

You know, when we mention Florida, you immediately think of sun and beaches, but that isn't always the case in the "Sunshine State." Like Louisiana, Florida has its share of nasty storms, and a recent one produced damaging hail.

Well, when one man saw what was falling from the sky, he knew he had to protect his vehicle, which was not in a garage or under a cover, so he wrapped himself in something and lay across it. Yes, this man used his own body as a barrier between his vehicle and the hail falling.

This could not have felt great, but perhaps the appearance of his vehicle is much more important than his own well-being.

Here's "Florida Man" risking it all during a hail storm, and no, we do not encourage you to ever do this. No matter what.

Do you think he just got a new sunroof or that it was open and he couldn't close it? Who knows?

If you don't think hail is dangerous or can damage a vehicle, check out this vehicle, which was caught in a hailstorm in 2025.

Perhaps "Florida Man" should invest in one of these covers for his vehicle. Many areas, like Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, have these, where severe storms are known to produce damaging hail.
