(Lafayette, Louisiana) - We have some unfortunate news to share here: Louisiana Comic Con is no longer happening.

For years, fans have flocked to the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette to meet some of their favorite characters or celebrities, but according to a social media post by Louisiana Comic Con, the annual event is no more.

While no specific reason was given for ending the show and run of events, the organizer thanked those who helped put on Louisiana Comic Con and the thousands of fans who attended the shows through the years.

"I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and patronage over the years, as well as wonderful well wishes to those who helped make the show what I planned and set out for it to be; a safe, family-friendly celebration of fandom."

The organizer would go on to say that they are retiring from doing large-scale venue shows, as they are now in the rearview mirror. They added that it was time to pivot and to do something different, which was not mentioned in the social media post.

To end the announcement of Louisiana Comic Con's run, the organizer encouraged people to be nice to one another and to always stand up for others. They also encouraged their fans to continue supporting events that are good for people.

Here's the official announcement that Louisiana Comic Con is over.

As you may expect, once this announcement was published, many fans responded to this unfortunate news.
