The folks at United Blood Services report donations are down. There is a particular need for type O negative red cell donations and type AB plasma donations. October is, of course, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Donate in October, and receive a "Fearless" stadium cup & a "monsters Are Real" T-shirt while supplies last. Cancer patients are often in need of platelet and red cell transfusions to counter the effects of chemotherapthy, and radiation. You can make an appointment at or 337-235-LIFE (5433). They're located at 1503 Bertrand Drive, in Lafayette. Donation hours are as follows:

Monday- 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday- 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday - 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday- 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Friday - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday- 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday - 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
