The Reason I Won't Be On The Air Next Week:

Next week I won't be on the air. I wanted you to hear the reason from me personally.

Next week, Brittni, a friend, Blake and I will be traveling back to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida for tests including a bone marrow biopsy. I wanted us all to be there.

Brittni was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (APL) high risk February 11, 2016. She still gets standard testing bi-monthly here in Lafayette, but for the big tests, every several months, we travel back to Tampa.

Brittni is doing very well. She feels great, is enrolled in the nursing program at ULL and has recently returned from Cairo, Egypt after visiting her mom for the holidays. We expect the news to be good.

Brittni loves the beach, even though the weather will be too cold to go in the water, we're hoping to at least have lunch and a walk on the sand. Brittni will also try to visit Disney to visit some of her friends she worked with before being diagnosed with cancer.
