Pearl Harbor veterans who survived the Japanese attack that led us into World War II can be buried with their fallen shipmates on the USS Arizona.
Rare WWII PT Boat
The WWII Museum in New Orleans has one of the rarest of artifacts, a PT boat. Only 10 others exist. None are operational. More than 200 volunteers have served in a $3 million restoration, with the goal of returning her to Lake Ponchartrain, where she was originally launched.
Nagasaki Vase Displayed
The right side of the vase looks "normal", whereas the left side looks dirty: the marks are flash burns from the blast of the bomb that was dropped on the city.
The wife of an active duty officer (her father was in the military, as well) was visiting the memorial this week with friends and family when they saw something that shocked them.
WWII Museum Receives Donation
The National WWII Museum in New Orleans has just received a 20 million dollar donation. AP reports, Bollinger Shipyards CEO, and chairman, Boysie Bollinger made the announcement at a Tuesday news conference.
