The National WW II Museum in New Orleans is once again offering a discount on admission for Louisiana residents. AP reports, residents of the bayou state will be admitted at half price in September. This is the fifth year the museum has offered the discount. The newest exhibit at the museum chronicles the history of Andrew Jackson Higgins and Higgins Industries. The company built the landing craft US forces utilized in the Normandy invasion. Higgins also built numerous PT boats, including the fully restored PT-305, berthed on Lake Ponchartrain. The September discount also applies to tours and rides aboard the vessel. That's on my bucket list!
