Pearl Harbor veterans who survived the Japanese attack that led us into World War II can be buried with their fallen shipmates on the USS Arizona.

After the final tours to the memorial are done for the day, family and friends of the deceased veteran board the Navy boat for the short ride to the memorial.  After a brief ceremony with full honors, Navy divers take the remains to the sunken ship and slip them into a crevice in the hull, where they are to remain for eternity, reunited with their fallen comrades.

I have not yet made it out to Hawaii, but when I do, one of my stops will be the USS Arizona memorial to pay tribute to our World War II heroes.
