Runaway Dish presents "Runaway Boil", to benefit Festival International, today at 5pm.

According to its Facebook page, Runaway Dish is a private, not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the creative culinary talents and resources that thrive in Southern Louisiana while raising funds for local, very important charities. Their mission is accomplished by hosting dinner parties throughout the year at surprise locations. Each themed dinner spotlights a different chef and a different charity.

We want to create an environment filled with daring chefs and adventurous foodies....where friends and strangers will talk for hours over well prepared food and a great bottle of wine. In return, we do not ask the chefs to donate anything besides their creativity and time. The ticket price covers all of the costs for each dinner (food, staff, equipment rentals, entertainment, etc.) with all remaining money going to a specific charity. No profits....just really incredible food experiences that expand, enhance, and celebrate our entire community.  - Runaway Dish

Last year, Runaway Dish paid homage to the whole hog barbecue and all the fixings. This year, they celebrate the majestic crawfish, boiled and beyond.

The location of the event is kept secret, and given only to those who purchase tickets (available through Eventbrite).

Today's event will featured the following chefs -

  • Megan Arceneaux (Hawk's Boil Up)
  • Alex Andrade (Rusted Rooster)
  • Chanel Gaudé (Village Café)
  • Denise Landry (Landry's Café)
  • Dustie Latiolais (Crawfish Town USA)
  • Brittany Waters (Social Southern Table & Bar)

Music by will be provided by Blayze and Saddles

The menu will feature Boiled Crawfish, Farmers Market Slaw, Fried Crawfish Pie, Crawfish Boil Potato Salad, and Chocolate Dipped Frozen Key Lime Pie On A Stick. Water will be provided. If you want to drink anything else, bring it, as the event is BYOB and BYOBlankets.  The event will be set in an open space with room for dancing and lounging in the grass.  Ice chests are encouraged, as the admission cost goes to pay the supplies for the event, with all leftover monies go to the charities (Festival International and Ruanway Dish).

Get your tickets now, as there is a limited number to be sold, and head to Downtown Lafayette for a evening of great food, music, and friends: everything that makes Lafayette, Lafayette!
