July 18, 2012 A grand jury in Lafayette, Louisiana has indicted Brandon Scott Lavergne on kidnapping and murder charges in the death of Mickey Shunick. The panel of citizens also believed enough evidence was presented to indict him in a cold case from 1999, as well. Lavergne was charged this afternoon on charges of first degree murder and kidnapping of UL student Mickey Shunick and first degree murder of Lisa Pate.
July 12, 2012 According to our sister station NewsTalk 965 KPEL — Brandon Scott Lavergne was admitted to a hospital in Jefferson Parish, suffering from several stab wounds, the same day missing University of Louisiana at Lafayette student Mickey Shunick disappeared.
