As we were leaving lunch today, I was curious as to who was collecting money at the corner of Ambassador Caffery and Cameron Street.  So we whipped out the video camera and recorded our encounter.

After I got back to work, I did a little research.  It turns out that there is an organization called the Shreveport Restoration Ministry (yes, I was skeptical).  According to their hand-out and website, they are a Christian-based restoration ministry (come on, people, don't describe your organization by using the same wording as your name!).

Here is a picture of the hand-out I received:

If you have problems, With drugs, alcohol Then come!! (sic)  We are a restoration ministry.  We have restoration homes For men and women Free of charge!!!!

And, of course, as it reads on the hand-out:

"We accept any type of donations Cash, TV's, Cars, Homes, etc.

Forgive me for being a critic, but it appears that this organization could use some PR/Marketing help.

Anyhoot, if you would like to send them money, you can make a donation online at their website.  For more information about their organization, I encourage you to call and grill them - er, um, - ask them questions.  (318) 404-4501.

I really hope their organization is legitimate.
