Lafayette Police have released some interesting statistics pertaining to the recent Mickey Shunick investigation which captured the attention of the Acadiana area and beyond. Chief Jim Craft was a guest on our sister station KPEL 96.5 and described the tireless effort put in by law enforcement, volunteers, and the community at large during the multi-month investigation.

The rain did not keep the event from going on as hundred gathered to remember Mickey Shunick in downtown Lafayette.

The community celebration to honor the memory of Mickey Shunick will take place tomorrow (Sat. Sept. 29th) in Parc International, Downtown Lafayette.  Gates open at 11:30 am.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) — Documents filed Thursday in district court are providing an idea of what kind of evidence prosecutors have against Brandon Scott Lavergne, the man accused of murdering Lisa Pate and missing University of Louisiana at Lafayette student Mickey Shunick.

  An arraignment for 33-year-old Brandon Scott Lavergne was held today at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. He pled not guilty for the charges against him.  Lavergne was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in the May 19th disappearance of 22-year-old Mickey Shunick of Lafayette and a second count of first-degree murder in the killing of Lisa Pate in Acadia Parish 13
