News Anchor Took Million Dollar Pay Cut To Save Jobs
There's a saying that says that the true test of a person's character is what they do when no one is watching.
That's true of Katie Couric, who took a million dollar pay cut to help keep CBS employees from losing their jobs.
Huffington Post reports that Couric learned that a 'significant' number of employees were going to be let go and offered to have her salary cut by $1 million to keep them employed.
Couric only asked that those employees who were going to be let go be spared and that no public or private recognition of her deed be made. News of her gesture was brought to light by a new book called Powerhouse: The Untold Story of Hollywood's Creative Arts Agency.
