Several people in the Lafayette news broadcast industry were laid off this week at KADN News 15 and one major personality had a heartfelt message to those who watched him every morning.

Acadiana fell in love with Al Hebert on New 15 as he became a household name from their morning show. Al was known best for its cooking features and for showing up in the most random places across the state.

Al's personality was contagious, and you can tell he truly loved what he did in Lafayette and while employed at News 15.

Sadly, he and several of his colleagues were laid off this week after the company they worked for decided to "go in a different direction."

As for Al's future, well I am certain that he could get a job just about anywhere he wants in the country because of not just his talent, but also because of his work ethic. Al Hebert loves broadcasting and he loves serving his community, thus someone will be blessed to score this man on their team.

In typical Al Hebert fashion, he says since being laid off, he has been watching sheep herding on YouTube and that could be his next career path. I highly doubt it, but it did make me laugh.

Here's what Al Hebert had to say to those who he's worked with and to those who watched each morning in Acadiana as his reign at News 15 came to an unfortunate end.

We will all miss you, Al.

This will always be one of my favorite station promos, and yes, it featured Al Hebert being all over Acadiana.

LOOKS: Things you'd likely see in an awesomely '80s garage

From scandalous bikini calendars to your dad's AMC Gremlin, '80s garages were a treasure trove of adventure, good fun, and sometimes downright danger.
