(KTDY) - Some sad news to share with you from the media world, a young news reporter from Louisiana has suddenly passed away.

WAPT reports that Celeste Wilson, who recently joined WAPT as their weekend anchor, died at the age of 42 from a heart attack.

According to her Facebook page, she studied at Northwestern State University and Arizona State University. Wilson was from New Orleans.

She was known for her warmth and love of journalism, and the staff at WAPT says that they will miss her, even though she had only been at the station for a short time.

Celeste started her broadcasting career at the CBS affiliate (KNOE) in Monroe, Louisiana, after receiving her master's degree in Journalism.

We extend our thoughts and prayers to Celeste's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
