According to the satirical news site The Daily Crawfish, NASA launched Rob Perillo into space for closer, more precise weather forecasting.

The Crawfish spoke to a fictional project engineer on the mission who said that Rob Perillo can process more weather information in a second than the most sophisticated equipment produced by man. The site says that Rob will also be able to provide "statistical information on when the optimal time for eating gumbo is."

If you haven't read any of the stories from The Daily Crawfish, you're in for a treat, as they tackle topics ranging from Chick-Fil-A for the River Ranchers to classic 70s rockers writing a song about a stretch of Lafayette highway, which was convincing enough of a story to fool a local, hard-core-70s-loving disc jockey.

One of my favorites from The Daily Crawfish?  Willie Robertson's trip to Cleveland.

The Daily Crawfish's website is, in my opinion, brilliant: they write about local topics, sprinkle in enough stereotype to hit one in his feels, and then include details that conjure the thought "come on, this can't be real". Or, can it?
