Comedian and actor Jerry Lewis has passed away at the age of 91.

Variety reports that actor and comedian Jerry Lewis, known for movies like the original Nutty Professor and The Bellboy, died at his home at 9:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

Lewis was a beloved comedic icon for decades, but his reputation was tarnished after making a gay slur during his 2007 telethon and for racist and misogynist jokes into his old age. Despite this, Lewis continued to work on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association with annual telethons aimed at funding a cure for the disease.
