Have You Ever Had a ‘Fluffernutter?’
If not, today's the day to have your first Fluffernutter!
Today is National Fluffernutter Day, established to celebrate the Fluffernutter, a peanut - butter and marshmallow creme sandwich!
Archibald Query of Somerville, Mass. invented Marshmallow Creme in 1917. He sold the recipe to Durkee - Mower in 1920 who renamed it Marshmallow Fluff. The Fluffernutter name was given to a sandwich made with marshmallow creme and peanut butter by an ad agency for Durkee - Mower in the 60s. Fluffernutter sandwiches can also include Nutella or bacon or anything else you want to add!
