(KTDY) - Soon you will see Girl Scout Cookies for sale throughout Acadiana, and this year, you have a new flavor to try.

Sure, we all love the Thin Mints, Samoas, and Peanut Butter Patties, but now we all may all fall in love with another new flavor.

According to an announcement from the Girl Scout organization, the Exploremores cookie flavor will be added to the lineup this year and is inspired by Rocky Road ice cream.

If you enjoy the taste of Rocky Road ice cream, you will love the new cookie available for purchase this year when you support the Girl Scouts. I know many of us have made the New Year's resolution to lose weight or eat better, but who can't try a cookie that tastes llike Rocky Road ice cream? I know I will try this one.

The Girl Scout cookie campaign and fundraiser not only teaches young girls how to sell and, perhaps one day, become entrepreneurs, but also serves as the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls. Yes, we are encouraging you to purchase a box or two this season from the Girl Scouts, and if that means breaking your New Year's resolution —Oh, well.

Where to Buy Girl Scout Cookies

Remember, you can still purchase Girl Scout cookies from the Girl Scouts themselves, often in front of grocery stores, or you can now purchase them online using the Girl Scout Finder.

In the press release, the Girl Scouts remind us that every dollar we spend with them goes toward teaching young women about business and allows them to explore many other opportunities and adventures.

If you plan to purchase the new flavor in the coming weeks, here's the box you will want to look for when buying your favorites from the Girl Scouts.
