(Lafayette, Louisiana) - In the South, we love a good barbecue, but there are some weekends when you don't feel like standing over the pit or stove to prepare lunch, so we asked you where the best place in Acadiana is to get a BBQ plate lunch.

Having lived here my entire life, I have tried many places for a BBQ plate lunch, and I'll admit, I've never had a bad experience.

Sure, like you, I have my preferences, but I would like to try other places that offer these plate lunches on Sundays, when I don't feel like prepping the meal myself at home.

Fezzo's made the list, and they have locations in Scott, Broussard, and Crowley. I've had their plate lunch on Sundays many times, and it's GOOD!

Another favorite that many voted for is Veronica's in Carecencro on Hector Connolley. Hint: get there early because the lines stretch down the road.

337 BBQ in Broussard is another favorite that made our list, and now I am adding it to my list of places to try in the weeks ahead.

Lebouef's Restaurant is also on the list of favorite BBQ plate lunches on a Sunday, and you can locate it at 3439 West Pinhook Rd in Lafayette.

Many commented under our question and supported Sweet P's in Rayne. They're located at 13009 N. Polk in Rayne, and they've been around for several years. It must be that good.

Then there's Kartchner's, which many love to go to on Sunday for their BBQ, and I've been too. They have locations in Scott, Lafayette, Crowley, and Youngsville.

Another popular place to grab a BBQ plate lunch is Big Al's Backyard BBQ in Carcereno. Located at 3611 North University in Carencro.

South End Country Mart was in the Top 3 places for a great BBQ plate lunch, and if that many voted for them, we probably need to try it soon. Their addresss is 7212 Johnston St.

Coming in second, with the second-most votes for the best BBQ plate lunch on Sundays, was Pipi's BBQ & Catering in Abbeville. Many said it's worth the drive for this plate lunch, and it's at 9407 US Hwy 167.

And the NUMBER ONE place, as voted upon by you on Facebook, for a BBQ plate lunch is Dwight's in Lafayette, on Johnston St. Having been there many times, I can say it's that good!
