Friday Morning Polyester Power Hour Salutes Medical Professionals
The average age of practicing doctors in the United States is between 55 and 65. The average age of a registered nurse (RN) in the United States is 50. As of 2018, the average age of an RN entering practice was 30. Taking these numbers into consideration, there's total validation for the medical field's choice for 'favorite decade of music'.
In a recent poll of medical professionals in the United States, when asked their favorite decade of music, the winner was...the 80s. Participants could have chosen the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or 2000s.
Tomorrow, amidst the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, KTDY will honor medical professionals on the popular Polyester Power Hour (PPH). The PPH is an old-school show that begins at about 6:30 AM with CJ and Jenn in the Morning on 99.9 KTDY FM, an Adult Contmporary radio station in Lafayette, La.
During the almost 4 hour-long show, KTDY will spotlight songs from the 80s to salute doctors and nurses in the Acadiana area and around the world using the KTDY mobile app. The show does play 80s music on a normal Friday, but tomorrow the effort will be to broaden the 80s library and play 80s songs that have never been heard on the #1 rated Polyester Power Hour.
To all doctors, nurses, frontliners and essential workers who are keeping this country afloat during this modern-day pandemic, KTDY sends love and health to you and those you love.
