Good morning Sugahs. The All Christmas Polyester Power Hour is on 99.9 KTDY this morning. Only 12 days until Christmas, is that not craziness. It came fast this year.

Today is National Ice Cream Day, I'm thinking a visit to Candyland Cottage and Ice Cream Shoppe is in order. It's also Cocoa Day, Salesperson Day, Day Of The Horse, Violin Day, Pick A Pathologist Day and Guard Birthday. Tomorrow is National Free Shipping Day and Sunday is Cupcake Day.

Cher is in New Orleans tonight. Acadiana Wreckin' Rams will play the state championship in the Superdome Saturday evening at 7 PM.  Many folks from Acadiana are headed to New Orleans this weekend, be safe.  The weather will be PERFECT this weekend in New Orleans.

104 years ago - In 1915, the city of San Diego offered rainmaker Charles Hatfield $10,000 to bring rain to the city during a severe drought. It may have worked too well. By the end of January San Diego had so much rain there was major flooding, streams were overflowing and a dam burst. At least 50 died. The city of San Diego refused to pay Hatfield.

41 years ago - In 1978, the Philadelphia Mint began stamping the Susan B. Anthony Dollar, the first coin to honor a woman.  It was taken out of circulation quickly because it looked too much like the quarter.

40 years ago - In 1979, the "Jack Frost" holiday special first aired.

40 years ago - In 1979, the National Christmas Tree went dark to honor the American hostages in Iran.  Only the star on the top of the tree was lit and President Carter said the rest of the tree wouldn't be lit until the hostages returned home.  It stayed dark until Reagan's inauguration in January 1981.
