Acadiana Woman Shocked to See What Was in Egg When She Cracked It

(KTDY) - A woman in Acadiana was shocked to see what was inside an egg when she cracked it as she planned to prepare a dessert for her family.

As you can see here, the egg that was cracked was undergoing incubation, and inside the egg was more than just the yolk; a small chick was in the early stages of development.

The woman who submitted the photos to me tells me that her neighbor gifted her the eggs, and they never expected one of the eggs to be fertilized, but it was.

As you woulld expect, the woman says that she was disturbed by what she saw in the bowl; she threw the rest of the eggs away, in hopes that she would not have to witness another egg like that.

How Long Does It Take For A Chick to Develop in An Egg?

The period of about 21 days during which the embryo, the developing chick, develops inside the egg. Over the 21 days, the embryo grows, creating features such as blood vessels, a heart, eyes, and ultimately, a fully formed chick.
