Weather to Impact Easter in Acadiana

Easter is a special holiday in Acadiana, The dense population of Catholics and Christians alike makes Easter a time for family and food. COVID-19 was destined to alter Easter gatherings for many this year but now Mother Nature is throwing her name into the ring.

The National Weather Service is suggesting outdoor Easter plans be rethought. Acadiana will be under a severe threat for storms later this afternoon but wind gusts throughout the day may make outdoor activities difficult.

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

The good news is that Monday will be clear with a high of 77 degrees.
