The Vermilion Parish School Board held its first meeting of the new year last night. In that meeting, The Board tied up some loose ends from 2019. One of the bigger loose ends was who would be leading the school system following the resignation of Jerome Puyau.

The Board opted to appoint Brad Prudhomme to that position in a vote at last night's meeting. Prudhomme has worked previously with the school board as Supervisor of Child Welfare & Attendance. The system will conduct a search to fill the Superintendent's position on a full-time basis later this year.

Meanwhile, former Superintendent of Vermilion Parish Schools Jerome Puyau will continue to serve the school system as Consultant of the Superintendent. Puyau is expected to serve in that capacity until September.
