United Way BBQ Cook-Off, Jeep Ride, Car Show

The United Way of Acadiana will benefit from the Inaugural Barbecue Cook-Off, Jeep ride and car show "United for the Ride of Life", presented by Cargill Salt.

The event will be held August 29 at Henry Guidry Memorial Park in Henderson, starting at 10am.  Food, drinks, fun jump, DJ, 50-50 split raffle and other fun events will take place.

Check-in for the Jeep Ride will begin at 7:30, with the ride departing at 9am, returning to Henry Guidry Memorial Park by 11:30am.  The ride is $20 for the driver if pre-registered, $25 day of event.  Each passenger will pay $5 if pre-registered, $10 day of the event.

Entry fees for cooking teams are as follows:

• $75 for businesses/professional teams
• $50 for individuals
• $25 for students/non-profits

Cooking and prep starts at 6:30am, to be ready to serve sample for judges by 11:45am, and the general public at noon.
