I was in the I-10 Duson Travel Center yesterday to pay for my gas and as I got up to the counter, the sweet clerk says, "Are you CJ?"  Thinking I had done something wrong, I hesitantly said, "Yes ma'am."  She said, "Are you the one who did the story about our brownies?"

As we both looked down at  box on the counter that had more brownies in it than I had ever seen, so many that they were literally falling out over the sides.  I again, said, "Yes ma'am."  She said,

"People have been coming in here like crazy for these brownies 'cause of you.  They come in asking, 'Where are those famous brownies?'  We had to call the guy to come bring us some more."

This is the story I posted a few days ago that caused brownie mania.  They are so good, I hope you try them soon!

If you ever find yourself down Interstate 10 toward Duson, you might decide to take the Duson/Mire exit for the best tasting gas station brownies in all of Acadiana and maybe the world.

Less than a mile off the interstate at the I-10 Duson Travel Center (next to Miss Mamies Casino) you'll find the the most delicious brownies right there on the counter in the Chevron gas station.  There's a whole box of them, two types, plain or topped with pecans.

The brand name of these brownies is Jan's Gourmet Sweets Inc.  Next time you need gas and a treat, stop into the I-10 Duson Travel Center.  Jan's Gourmet Chewy Fudge Brownies are worth the drive to Duson.  You may find yourself eating one while pumping gas into your car so get a couple so that at least one brownie makes it home with you.  If you are lucky enough to get home with one of these awesome brownies, try heating it up in the microwave for few seconds and topping it with vanilla ice cream.  So good!
