The Polyester Power Hour Goes South
The Polyester Power Hour started off as an hour-long show over 22 years ago that featured, as it does to this day, old school funk and disco. The hour-long show was so wildly popular, the Polyester Power Hour expanded to encompass the entire KTDY morning show on Friday mornings. The show kicks off after the 6:30 AM newscast and lasts until 10 AM or later.
On this Friday's (July 17) Polyester Power Hour, 99.9 KTDY is going south...to Iberia Parish.
In the 80s and 90s, the music at bars, clubs and wedding receptions in Iberia Parish was a little different than what was being played in the rest of Acadiana. Bars like Paul's in Jeanerette and Red's in New Iberia played a lot of dance/funk. Songs like, "Planet Rock", "No Parking On The Dance Floor" and "Fantastic Voyage" were staples every weekend.
Tomorrow, CJ and Jenn in the Morning on KTDY will turn the spotlight on the old school music of Iberia Parish. The show is aired on 99.9 KTDY-FM, 999KTDY.com and using the KTDY mobile app.
The Polyester Power Hour...the only way to start the weekend!
