Due to the changes in the flood forecast and the slow approach of water, St. Landry Parish President, Don Menard, has lifted the mandatory evacuation order for residents in areas South of Hwy 190, the Three Mile Lake area and the North Wilderness Road area. These areas will remain under voluntary evacuation until further notice. Due to the uncertainty of the arrival and the amount of water expected, all residents living in these impacted areas are urged to remain alert, vigilant and to continue preparations to evacuate at a moments notice should the need arise. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department will continue to patrol the area to ensure the safety of all residents. Residents please be aware of the possible increase of wildlife in the area. PLEASE BE ADVISED THE MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR ALL LIVESTOCK AND FOR RESIDENTS LIVING ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE LEVEE.
