Residents in the town of Welsh will need to make sure they have a backup alarm clock set and their cellphones charged before they drift off to dream tonight. That's because Entergy, the electrical service provider to the town, will have a planned outage tonight.

The outage is expected to occur at about 10 PM. The town could be without power for several hours. The worst case scenario suggests that residents could be without power for up to six hours but hopefully crews can complete their work in a  more timely fashion than that.

The planned outage is part of an equipment and systems upgrade that Entergy has been deploying throughout its footprint. The hope is that a little inconvenience tonight will yield years of more reliable and affordable energy service in the future.

If you have questions or concerns about tonight's planned power outage contact Entergy.
