NEW THIS MORNING: I-10 W Closed Between I-49 and LA 165
Trooper Brooks David from Louisiana State Police reports I-10 is closed in westbound direction between I-49 and LA 165 (Iowa). Traffic out of Lafayette is being diverted north on I-49 to Opelousas and then west on Hwy 190. The interstate reopens at U.S. 165 in the Iowa area.
Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes as smaller towns are working hard to deal with the influx of traffic in the area.
