Louisiana Man Attempts to Rescue Pigs From Flood Water
(Bordelonville, Louisiana) - Parts of Central Louisiana received several inches of rain as remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur impacted portions of the state, and one man had to go on a rescue mission on his property.
A record amount of rainfall impacted Avoyelles Parish this week, and many in this area of the state were left seeking higher ground as the rain fell so quickly.
Forecasters kept calling for several inches of rain in some areas of the state as Arthur made landfall, and while some didn't receive much rain at all, others received over 20 inches in a day.
In Avoyelles Parish, several high-water rescues were performed as the water rose quickly, and sadly, many homes in this part of the state were flooded, leaving homeowners in shock.
Louisiana Flood
In various parts of the state, we saw vehicles stranded in the water, nursing homes evacuated, and wildlife showing up in places you would not expect to see them.
In Borderlonville, one man documented not only the high water on his property, but also his attempt to rescue three pigs that he owns. In a viral video posted on social media, you see and hear Cody Coco attempt to lure the pigs back to him as they swim in the flooded area on his property.
At one point, you even hear Coco sssay that they are going the wrong way, but you have to believe that the animals were very confused in the water. Some questioned Coco about why he waited so long to check on his pigs, but he explained that, as in many places, the water rose so quickly when thunderstorms stalled in central Louisiana.

As you may expect, many were left wondering whether the pigs survived, and Coco did state in the comment section below his video that he was ultimately able to capture and rescue them.
Here's a look at "The Three Little Pigs" taking a swim, and like so many on Facebook, we are glad to hear that they were saved and did not drown in this record-setting flood in Avoyelles Parish.
