Madonna had to cancel a few Madame X tour dates due to "overwhelming pain."

On Wednesday (November 27), the iconic pop star took to Instagram to announce she can't perform three of her upcoming shows in Boston per doctor's orders. In the caption, she explained how devastated she to do this to fans on such short notice but that she needs to rest so she has the strength to finish her tour.

“Please forgive this unexpected turn of events. Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me, but the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming, and I must rest and follow doctor’s orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame X journey with all of you,” Madonna wrote.

Though she doesn't reveal the cause of her pain, this isn't the first time Madonna has been forced to cancel a show. In October, the "Like a Virgin" singer postponed a concert in New York City after reportedly injuring her knee.

As of right now, the Boston tour dates were not rescheduled, but the Madame X tour is still set to continue on December 7 in Philadelphia. Tickets and more information are available here.
