Lafayette Rally Against Police Brutality Scheduled This Sunday
There will be a rally against police brutality this Sunday in Lafayette.
We are gathering to demand an end to police brutality in Lafayette Parish and the U.S. We do this in solidarity with #JusticeforGeorgeFloyd and #BlackLivesMatter - SAOC, Facebook
According to a post on Facebook by the Student Action and Organizing Committee, the Lafayette Rally Against Police Brutality will begin this Sunday, May 31, at 11am.
Organizers of the event ask that attendees assemble on UL's campus, at the corner of Johnston St and University, that everyone wear a protective mask, and to bring a sign for the rally.
We aim with this event to empower citizens to speak up about problematic policing in our community. SAOC, Facebook
If you have plans that will take you near campus on Sunday, please use caution as there will probably be increased foot traffic, especially near that intersection.
As of this post, 140 Facebook users had responded to the Facebook Event as "Going"; 276 as "Interested".
