The giving and compassionate nature of the people of Acadiana was recognized as Mrs. Tylia Ikharia, Operations Manager for the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Home, received the 2014 Bob Rader Juvenile Detention Service Worker of the Year Award last October.

Mrs. Ikharia’s leadership and hard work led to the reduction of the center’s deficiencies from seventy-seven to seven.

“Mrs. Ikharia always goes above and beyond the call of duty. She is a motivator for the kids and fellow staff members. Her expertise in the field of Juvenile Justice helps move the center forward.
