(Lafayette, Louisiana) - A few days ago, former KATC TV-3 Meteorologist and Broussard native Jobie Lagrange posted a heartfelt goodbye on social media as she announced that she was moving away from Acadiana.

At the time, she didn't specify where her next role would be, but now we know she isn't going far.

Jobie, who has a passion for weather forecasting, spent most of her year at KATC in fill-in work, but she has now been named Chief Meteorologist at a television station in central Louisiana.

Lagrange graduated with a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science from ULM. She joined KATC as both a multimedia journalist and a meteorologist—a demanding dual role that involved reporting news and delivering weather forecasts.

She secured the position after completing an internship at the National Weather Center. The position was her first professional role in broadcast meteorology and let her serve her home community in Acadiana.

Where Did KATC's Jobie Lagrange Go?

KALB-TV in Alexandria has officially announced that Jobie Lagragnage will assume Chief Meteorologist duties at their station. Ironically, the announcement came on "National Weather Person's Day."

We congratulate Jobie and wish her nothing but the best in her new position at KALB. Lucky for her, she's not far from Acadiana, so she can always make a quick drive down I-49 for a visit or to attend one of the many festivals we host here.

If you missed it, this was Jobie's announcement on social media a few days ago: she was departing from KATC TV-3.

Here's a look back at Jobie's career in weather forecasting so far.
