People love Fridays! Today, June 5th, there's twice as much to celebrate. It's "National Doughnut Day." The tradition was begun by the Salvation Army in 1938. The first Friday in June was designated as a day to honor the men & women who served doughnuts to armed forces personnel during World War I. Many donut shops and chains, like Dunkin' Donuts & Krispy Kreme,  offer special discounts, even free doughnuts on this day.
