Happy Birthday Jenn Nelson And Welcome To The KTDY Morning Show

Townsquare Media Lafayette's latest arrival is a 5'1 energetic mom of 3 named Jenn Nelson.  She and I will be the newest morning show team in Lafayette.  CJ and Jenn in the Morning on 99.9 KTDY.  And she's already having a birthday, tomorrow!

Jenn was born in Houston, Texas, raised in Bourg, Louisiana and now resides in Crowley with her children Cameron (19 ) and Caroline (14).

Jenn lost her eldest son Christian in 2013 and formed Christian's Legacy, a non-profit organization to promote the benefits of organ donations.

Jenn Nelson and I have been friends for many years.  She is one of the strongest women I know.  Hard-working, contentious, always willing to help, respected in the community and her smile will light up any room.

She left a job that she loved to get back on the air in Lafayette.  And I am very thankful for that.  You see, there's one thing about being on the radio, once it's in your blood nothing can take it out of your system.  For those of us who have the honor of sitting behind microphones at 1749 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette, the worst day on the radio is still better than the best day anyplace else on earth.  That's why Jenn Nelson is the perfect addition to the KTDY radio family.

Tomorrow, Friday the 13th, Jenn Nelson will have a birthday.  A Friday morning tradition in Acadiana is the highly-rated Polyester Power Hour (PPH), a retro show featuring feel-good music as far back as the 70s.  So tomorrow's PPH will be a celebration of Jenn's birthday with a salute to Friday the 13th.
