Despite the tropics being fairly quiet for the past few week’s forecasters with NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center are still calling for an above-average hurricane season. They’re sticking with their forecast of 15 to 21 named storms before the season ends. So far, there have been five named storms in the Atlantic basin this season.
In Television News:
The showrunner for the Peacock reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has exited the series. Chris Collins will no longer be serving as showrunner and executive producer on the reboot, titled Bel-Air, as the show will be "going in a slightly different creative direction," according to reports. It is being said that Collins left the show in December and was replaced by Empire’s Diana Houston, who has also left the show along with several of the show's writers.
In Dating News:
Tinder has announced that the app saw its highest activity in 2020. Despite safety concerns and lockdowns that took place last year, the need for companionship remained strong among America's singles. On March 29, 2020, Tinder's Swipe activity broke a 3 billion record in a single day, the first time to do so, then broke that single-day, 3 billion record, 130 more times in the last year,"

It was a moment that was as inspirational as it was heartbreaking! Yesterday, British heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson fell on the track after injuring her right calf during a 200-meter race at the Tokyo Olympics. When medics approached with a wheelchair, the 28-year-old refused assistance and instead rose to her feet to painfully jog toward the finish line. Despite the heroic performance, Katarina was still disqualified from the race which put her in last place for the event.
