(Lafayette, Louisiana) - A very popular building in Lafayette has been vacant for quite some time now, and now we are asking what you would like to see here.

The building that was once home to Daiquiri Supreme on Johnston Street is empty, and this property sits on prime real estate in Lafayette.

I recently drove past this location and thought someone could really do something fun here. Personally, I'd love to see a venue like Cats Meow in New Orleans. The building already has the stage for fun karaoke, and once that's done, let the late-night fun continue with DJs or bands.

Another plus for this location on Johnston St. is that there's plenty of parking, so patrons wouldn't have to walk far to get in.

Now, let's look at what some of you say should be in this building.

A Mexican Restaurant

This has become one of the strongest categories. Pancho's alone appears repeatedly, along with Torchy's and generic Mexican restaurant suggestions.

Keep It As A Daiquiri Shop

Many suggested that Daiquiri Supreme should just return because many love their recipes and atmosphere in this building. Others said if Daiquiri Supreme doesn't return, any other daiquiri place would be fine.

Adult Bar

Some suggested keeping the building as a bar, but with a twist. The venue would only appeal to those 30 years old and older. Perhaps a dive-bar atmosphere with pool tables and entertainment geared toward adults.

An All-Day Breakfast or Brunch Spot

One unique suggestion that came up several times is for someone to invest in an all-day breakfast location in this building. I don't know about you, but I'd sure support this one. Bacon, eggs, and biscuits sound great any time of the day.

Family Game Room or Entertainment Center

Some responding to our question on social media hoped that someone would turn this prime location into an entertainment hub for families. A huge arcade room for teens to hang out, or for families to visit, could work with proper security measures.

BBQ Restaurant

We have some very good barbecue restaurants in Lafayette, so could we support another? Some of you think we can, and I'll say this: if any place offers great BBQ with delicious sides, it will work in the South. I like this idea for when I don't feel like standing over the grill at home.

A Cajun Dancehall or Restaurant

In recent years, we have seen a number of dancehalls close in our area. Still, so many people like to go out and Cajun dance, so this isn't a terrible idea. Food and Cajun music are a big part of our culture. I think with the right atmosphere, this could work along Johnston St. in Lafayette;
