A duck named Pete was killed in a brutal way, and those responsible are being sought.

Bret Vidrine posted to his Facebook page about Pete, a duck local to Ruffino's on the River. Vidrine says that he and others raised several ducks, including  Pete, from ducklings and that the ducks had become accustomed to people. Vidrine found Pete dead yesterday.

Vidrine goes on to say that it is believed someone picked limes off of the tree near Ruffino's and pummeled the duck until it was dead.

One of the reasons it's important to identify those who abuse or kill animals is because studies show that those people, as adults, direct their abusive acts towards humans, often becoming serial criminals.
