Dramatic Video of Luxury Yacht Sinking Off the Coast of Italy

A yacht sank off the coast of Italy. No this is not the beginning of a joke, it actually happened.

The luxury yacht sank off the coast of Catanzaro in southern Italy and someone was able to catch the scene on video.

And it is a pretty dramatic sight to watch.

Thankfully the four passengers and five crew members that were on the yacht at the time of the tragedy were rescued from the Mediterranean Sea.

It appears that the Italian Coast Guard tried to coordinate a rescue operation 'in the previous days' to tow and salvage the sinking yacht but could not complete the operation before the yacht sank.

It is unclear at this time why the yacht sank or what caused it to sink. The Coast Guard has opened an investigation and will continue to search for answers.
