The '4-7-8' exercise has been helping people fall asleep for decades and yes it still works today.  Experts say, when you do it, you will fall asleep in under a minute

Start by pressing the tip of your tongue behind your top front teeth.  It is very important that you keep your tongue in this position through the entire exercise.

Exhale through your mouth.  While doing this, make sure you can hear the air leaving your mouth.  Do it, you'll understand the sound you should be making.

Now close your mouth and breathe in slowly through your nose.  Do this for four seconds.

Now hold your breath for seven seconds.

Go back to exhaling through your mouth.  Do this for eight seconds.  Make that sound again.

Repeat this complete exercise 3 more times.  You WILL fall asleep!
