You certainly couldn't blame weather conditions for three different crashes that tied up a couple of major thoroughfares across Acadiana on Saturday afternoon. There were two crashes that snarled traffic on Ambassador Caffery Parkway and another that closed the Coteau Holmes Highway in St. Martin Parish for a short time.

The crash on the Coteau Holmes Highway was near its intersection with Howard Broussard Road. Investigators closed the roadway while the accident scene was cleared but the roadway was reopened by 6 PM Saturday night. There were no reports of injuries but the investigation into that crash is ongoing.

Meanwhile, on Ambassador Caffery Parkway there was a hit and run incident that occurred in the 3600 block of that roadway about 5 PM. There were no injuries reported in that crash and police are still putting their investigation together.

The other crash on Ambassador Caffery Parkway happened about an hour later in the 4800 block very near Women's and Children's Hospital. There were injuries reported with this crash. However, no details on the extent of the injuries or how many people were injured were noted.

Both roadways, Ambassador Caffery Parkway, and the Coteau Holmes Highway are clear and running as normal this morning.
