Butler, Pennsylvania, Birthplace Of The Jeep
Butler, Pennsylvania held its 3rd Annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival last month, and the whole town got into the Jeep spirit!
I was unable to attend the festival this year, but when I visited last week, remnants of the celebration were still scattered about the town.
Although I didn't find anyone with specific knowledge of the event (we pulled into town late in the day), the festival website had some great information.
It seems that the businesses in the town were asked to participate in the "Jeep Invasion" portion of the event by placing decorated wooden Jeep silhouettes outside their places of business.
This year, there were over 1,900 registered Jeeps, hailing from 28 states and 2 Canadian provinces, and an attendance of over 20,000 people!
Definitely an event that I will try to attend next year.
