Our lives, for many of us, have been turned upside-down as challenges arise during the COVID-19 pandemic, but miracles still happen.

Work-from-home orders, businesses changing habits/policies, people losing their jobs, restaurants empty, no gathering with friends, personal hygiene awareness - the list goes on and on. All of these changes because of the coronavirus.

Lately, the media has been concentrating on the death rates, the number of people infected, etc., which is important: we need to be know how deadly and how easily transferred this virus is.

Meet Connor Engler Kennedy. Born yesterday, he weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces and, in his first official photograph, he looks like he asking "What did y'all bring me in to?"

Am I a proud uncle?  Maybe so. More grateful than anything, though: grateful that Conner and Mom are both doing fine. Grateful that Dad didn't get his way when it can't to naming the baby (we'd be welcoming a "Winchester" or a "Yeti" or a "Costa" to the world). Grateful that there are capable, caring healthcare workers in this world. Grateful that there are still little miracles happening amidst all of the challenges we are experiencing.

Don't get me wrong: we need to remain vigilant in this fight against the coronavirus. We need to wear masks, we need to limit contact with others, we need to sanitize door handles and shopping carts. But, to not lose sight of the good things in life, we also need to celebrate the little miracles that are sent our way.

Welcome to the world, Connor. Now, go wash your hands and put on a mask.
