The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Monday, April 28th.

There are now 27,286 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. 7,567 tests have been completed by state labs and 143.541 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,666 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 244 of them on ventilators.

As of today, 17,303 COVID-19 patients are presumed recovered.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,482 with 167 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 446 cases, 21 deaths
Iberia Parish: 247 cases, 18 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 226 cases, 15 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 182 cases, 20 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 170 cases, 37 deaths
Acadia Parish: 130 cases, 9 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 46 cases
Vermilion Parish: 35 cases, 1 death

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,758. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
