Millions of people dream of becoming famous. That dream seemingly became a reality for Phillips Phillips when he won American Idol. The season 11 winner says that dream has become a nightmare. He has filed a petition with the California Labor Commission, seeking release from his contract with 19 Entertainment. Phillips, like many before him, signed a "questionable" deal for the shot at potential stardom. An article in The Hollywood Reporter says Phillips complaint alleges 19 Entertainment takes as much as 40% of his earnings, and he's been forced to make numerous appearances for free. The complaint also alleges he wasn't allowed to choose, or even know the title of his second album. Phillips claims 19 Entertainment is in violation of California's Talent Agencies Act.
