A Look Back Inside of Graham Central Station in Lafayette, Louisiana
When you bring up clubs in Lafayette that no longer exist, Graham Central Station is often one of the first mentioned.
Located at the intersection of Bertrand and Congress Graham Central Station was the home to four clubs under one room.
If you wanted to line dance, sing karaoke, dance to 80s music, or dance all night to the latest dance music, there was room for you.
Going through photos from the group I am in with former employees at Graham, I was reminded that there was even a tree in one of the rooms, that's how big this place was.
In addition to elevated cages for folks to dance in and their New Orleans-style decor, Graham Central Station hosted some of the best and some of the WILDEST promotions. After all, Halloween was so huge at Graham Central Station in Lafayette that they would give away a car to the one with the best Halloween costume.
Plus, if you ever visited this club in the early 2000s, you may have been picked up and dropped off by a golf cart. Knowing that people parked so far from the doors, management at Graham purchased golf carts to shuttle guests to and from the venue.
In all, this place was like no other and so many people still talk about the fun nights at Graham Central Station. From the beer tubs to the shot girls, Graham Central Station provided their guests with an experience and it worked.
Let's take a look back at some photos from inside and outside of the club that Lafayette still misses to this day. The photos below are from the Graham Central Station Alumni Group.
